(If you have not yet graduated....) You're close to the end of the school year if not already. You're anxious to be done and start your session of relaxation. And you know what? That's okay! But you're still in school.....
The last few weeks have probably got you feeling lazy and not wanting to do anything school related. At least, I (Ang) have been feeling this way. I have so many goals and things I want to accomplish this summer. Being determined and pressing on is sometimes just rough when you don't feel like it, but hang in there and finish out strong!!
Joshua 1:9 - Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.
Be strong and of a good courage….what does that even mean? What does being strong have to do with determination? They actually go hand and hand. According to google determined means “having made a firm decision and being resolved not to ch…

Let's Talk About Boldness

In Bible class this week our teacher was talking about being bold for the gospel. (Ang typing here haha) These were some verses we talked about and would like to share with all y'all. We challenge you to read these verses and really think about what God is saying.
Hebrews 13:6 - So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.
Fear is a big stronghold in all of our lives, some more than others. I don't think we credit it enough for what it can do and for what it does. Being bold takes courage. It's not how it is on television where the guy or gal gets some surge of strength and overcomes the impossible and it's not like that in Christianity. God gives us that boldness. We are nothing without Him. God is always there despite what we may think.
So why are we quiet when we should be proclaiming the gospel? Why do we keep shut when someone questions us about what we believe? Bottom line is we are afraid of being intimidated…

Running From God

Whether you're a saved born again Christian or a God-hating atheist, one day the thought of running from God will cross your mind. You may not consciously think it but it will show by the actions you make. In the end though, running from God isn't worth it and you would have wished you had made the right choice in the first place. Jonah, a prophet of God, is a great example in the Old Testament. God called him to warn the people of Nineveh of coming judgement but instead he turned and fled for Tarshish.
Jonah 1:1-3~ Now the word of the Lord came unto Jonah the son of Amittai, saying,  Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city, and cry against it; for their wickedness is come up before me. But Jonah rose up to flee unto Tarshish from the presence of the Lord, and went down to Joppa; and he found a ship going to Tarshish: so he paid the fare thereof, and went down into it, to go with them unto Tarshish from the presence of the Lord.
If you look towards the end of the 3rd verse it …

Youth Rally | Mission Possible

Good Afternoon everyone!!
My how March has flown by fast! It's been a busy month, not only in school and church but for Abi and I.
Last Saturday the both of us attended a youth rally and I just want to briefly share with y'all what it was about. Our church took a busload of teenagers and some adults and it was all a real blessing. They had Pastor Adam Thompson from Texas preach and had a few missionaries give a thought from the Word of God.
The theme was "Mission Possible" taken from Mission Impossible and it was all about reaching out into the world. Life isn't easy and it's quite the roller coaster extravaganza but that doesn't give us an excuse to give up. He was preaching from Luke about the prodigal son and how he wasted his inheritance from his father, yet when he came back his father had open arms towards him and welcomed him home. Pastor Thompson went on to talk about how as Christian teens, we have it all and we need not to waste what God has …

That Small Dangerous Weapon | The Tongue

We think it would be safe to say that the majority of us have this thing called a tongue, right? Right. We think we could go on to say that at times we say kind and mean things, right? Double right.
So what's the issue?
When you get saved there are certain things that are supposed to change. In 1 Corinthians it talks about being a 'new creature' in Christ. So what's that supposed to look like? There are many areas we could focus on but one small specific yet deadly thing we're going to zoom in.
The Tongue.
Whoa!! *Gasp* Are you surprised? Probably not since it was in the title XD. But in all seriousness our mouths can either be a blessing or curse.  Proverbs 21:23 says, "Whoso keepeth his mouth and his tongue keepeth his soul from troubles." How you talk is going to reflect if you really have Christ in your life, or if that's just all talk to you.
The Bible, specifically the book of Proverbs, has a lot to say on how we conduct ourselves and use our…

"March"ing On!

March's Theme Verse:
James 4:7-8 ~ Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.
3rd month! Woohoo! For us it's been pretty busy with school, church, work, etc....which is expected. Not too many updates or big things except we are thinking of starting a podcast soon. We are still not sure when but in order for us to start we would like people, teens and adults alike, to copy and paste these questions below in the survey and email them to us on "What Is A Teenager?" So far we haven't received any yet but jump right on in! Don't be awkward or scared to and no worries we won't say names but maybe just ages.
Podcast Questionnaire "What Is A Teenager?"
Have a WONDERFUL month!!!

(Hey y'all Ang here, for those that don't know my family and I have been working for a health business since Oct…

The Hawks Trio ♪♫ To Count for Jesus

Make your life matter for something that is real and eternal! One day the earth and everything in it will pass away but God's Word will never perish. It's time we stopped focusing our time on things that won't matter in 50 years but start investing time in the people around us. Everyday you will pass by someone, did you present the gospel to them? Or at least give them a gospel tract? We will all stand before God one day. Would He say "Well done thy good and faithful servant?" Would you be able to say you did all you could for Him? None of us would be close to be saying that if we are honest with ourselves.
Charles Studd said, "Only One Life, Twill Soon Be Past. Only what's done for Christ will last."
John 17:3 - And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.
Matthew 24:35 - Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.

Where's Your Passion? 4 Points from the book of Philippians: Part 2

 3. Positivity - Philippians 4:8“Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.” As part of the pop culture out there, it’s popular to think that being dark or gory is funny and lighthearted. It’s actually the opposite. There’s nothing light about death (different case for eternity), killing, murder, theft, being rude, basically any sin. Abortion is another big ordeal that people “rejoice” in doing. If you are a mother or father to a child, you are crazy to want to have an abortion. God beautifully made that child and here you are supporting Planned Parenthood and abortion clinics that clearly go against what God has to say. God is the giver and taker of life and while it may be your choice you have no right to take that baby’s life away. Since the Fall of man …

Where's Your Passion? 4 Points from the book of Philippians: Part 1

The next two posts will be 4 main points from the book of Philippians. It's great to sit and study out a book of the Bible and to glean on what God's Word has to say. As Christians we need to make sure we are spending time with God and we are spiritually feeding ourselves.

#1 Witnessing - Philippians 1:15 “Some indeed preach Christ even of envy and strife; and some also of good will.” Soulwinning or simply witnessing to people can be difficult at times. But whatever the cost you need to speak the truth, even if it’s to your best friend. The truth may not be popular or easily accepted but people still need to hear it. All over the Bible it talks about different men and women who stood up for Christ and were not ashamed of their faith. In history many died because they took it seriously and even people then were rejecting what God had to say. People can reject what God has to say, but it’s still the truth. In other words you can run, but you cannot hide. Where’s your passion? Wh…

Happy February!!!

Wow!!! It's amazing how time flies!! The first month of the new year is completed and so far everything has been great! We've seen a lot happen, especially if you are here in the United States. There's been division of course but in some ways there has been unity and we are thankful for what God is already doing.  :)

February's Theme Verse:
2 Timothy 2:15 ~ Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
This month, and possibly the next month or however long God should have us on this topic, we will be posting about studying and knowing your Bible. It's important you are spending time in God's Word and in the prayer closet if you want Him to speak to you and do a work in your life. It is still uncertain about what we will specifically zoom in on but the first few posts will be on 4 things you can pull away from the book of Philippians. They will be general topics we may continue a study on…

My American Dream

(In English class Monday we were talking about Martin Luther King Jr and his speech "I Have A Dream." Our assignment was to write our own, of course not copying his haha. This is my dream for America and for the rest of the world that I am praying would one day happen and I have faith that it will.)
It is my passion, prayer, and desire to see a great change in the country God has so greatly blessed us with. Our Savior has brought us through thick and thin and has showed us this land of freedom, this land that I love. We live in a nation that is like none other. We are able to speak, write, & believe differently without anyone hunting us down for our life. Besides the Bible, our constitution is perhaps one of the greatest documents of all time that has been written. Our country was founded on the principles of the Bible. Although many others came for various reasons, there were those who came seeking God.             Sadly though, that has been changing. Our gre…

Reading your ENTIRE Bible In A Year / Your Time With God

Whoa that must sound impossible right? Read your entire Bible in a year? Yes that's difficult, but who's to say you can't do it?
For every Christian it is a GREAT exercise to completely read your Bible from the front to the back cover. I know it gets hard especially when you get to books that have lists of all those genealogies. But stick in there!! You're doing great!! I (Ang) decided to do it again this year to have a good refresher of so much I had forgotten. When I was 11 I did this but there was so much I didn't understand and was too young to comprehend. I find that devotional books or Bible plans help to keep you accountable and on track. Find a family member or friend to help you stay on point. Most of the time if we tell people of a decision we have made, there's a likely higher chance we will keep at it longer.
Even if you have already done this exercise a few times, always make sure you are reading your Bible and staying faithful in the Word of God.…
